Lost my betta :( How to clean the tank

I lost my dear betta to unknown reasons yesterday (fungus is my guess)

I don't think I want another betta for some time, so I am thinking of having a mystery snail in the tank , which I think will be fine.

Question is I used BettaFix yesterday in the tank to try to save the betta -- now how should I clean the tank for the snail ?

55 Gallon FW,Eco-complete Substrate
Equipment : In-line heater, RENA XP3 filter, 130 Watts Fluroscent
Plants - x Cryptocoryne wendtii brown
Fish : 10 Tiger Barbs, 2 Blue German Rams, 2 Bolivian Rams, 1 Rainbow shark

I am so sorry to hear about your betta.

Even though the snail is not going to come down with anything that the betta had, I would want to basically sterilize the tank and start over, in case down the road you see a betta that needs to be rescued, lol. A snail can handle a cycle with no problem, IME.

I'd remove the gravel and rinse it in water just off the boil or clean it in an extremely weak bleach solution, like half a capful per gallon. I'd rinse the tank out in the same manner and replace any filter material.
