Hello everyone, I'm glad to be here. I have recently been given Australian Rainbowfish, and upon a close look it appears that it has two lumps inside its body near its tail. Does anyone know what is the cause of these lumps and how to cure them?

It’s acting okay, not really hiding and not gasping for air. It’s been in a quarantine tank with the other Australian Rainbowfish, and the other one hasn’t developed any lumps. They’ve been quarantined for a little over three weeks and they haven’t shown any physical signs of being sick, nor have they gotten lethargic. Would it be safe to move them into my main tank?

3 weeks is a good amount of time to watch for sickness. Though I can not tell for sure anything quite off about the fish from the pics, if it is around the abdomen they often get lumpy with eggs. Maybe you can search some online pics to compare.
