When my molly was small I thought it was a female and pregnant. It has been 3 weeks and belly is still growing. Now When I bent down to actually look at my fish I noticed the back fin was more stick like and could move in all directions. From what I have read I understand that this means its a male...so why the huge belly..posted pics... help me out please! THe second picture is kinda of fuzzy but the little shadowed point sticking out underneath it as actually the fin moving and pointing straight down before laying back against the body...

Could be dropsy. Do you have a test kit to test for nitrates and such? What is your WC schedule? Dropsy can be caused by a few things but one of the main causes is deteriorating water conditions.

Looks like a male fish, are you feeding it too much? Or maybe dropsy which was suggested aswell. Check your water, or have it tested at your local pet store.
Good luck :)

Well, it looks like a balloon molly. And they have pretty big stomachs naturally.

Have you had your water tested yet?

Sorry no i never got my water tested. We do not have a pet store where i live nor a water testing kit other then Ph. The joys of living in a small community! But my molly is doing very well so i am assuming he is just a baloon molly! Youd think the pet store i got him from would have kept the fish seperate, but its all good!

My widdle guy:)
