Have some Dalmatian mollies that keep going between the heater and the glass and biting on the heater. I had one that stayed there for so ling it looks like a burn on its head. Any idea on how to get them to stay away from the heater or what they could be biting at?

You can get a heater guard that slips over the heater to help prevent fish lying against it.

A slime coating of micro-organisms will form over time on most surfaces in the tank - mollies will scrape this off with their adapted mouths - very nutritious it is too :)

yeah or algae....good thing mollies have no teeth :) Your heater will be fine....my girls stick their fingers in my molly tank, they love the way it tickles
