I just spent the past hour watching Miss Benett, my big blue guppy, drop about 30 or so fry. It was the first time I'd ever seen it from start to finish - the hiding, hovering, the squeezing out, and the skinny mom after all was said and done.

It was also the first time I'd ever seen her do front flips. She'd have maybe 4 or 5 at a time (is that normal?), and then do a sort of front roll and eat a couple of them - just like that! Crazy. When the other fish clued in, they all hung around waiting for snacks, but the mom was the fastest to them, doing her front flips (is this normal too?).

I managed to save a couple - I think I'm going to put them in with my skinny platy to make for a nice live meal for her and help fatten her up.

Another guppy is bound to have fry in the next day or so too. I'm going to be on the lookout for front flips.
