Anytime I add mystery snails to my tanks they die pretty quickly. Is that an indicator of something? My tanks are fully cycled but the nitrates ate naturally high 20-40 out of the tank.

So your tap water has high nitrate? I'd consider plants for that.

Not sure what's killing the snails. How big is your tank? What else do you have in it?

My tank at home is a 55 g with 2 breeding angels, 3 male guppies,12 neons, and 3 Corys. There are a few plants.

My tank at work is a tall 65 gal (we think, it's an odd shape and extra tall) it has 4 baby angels, 8 corys and 1 swordtail. No plants.

Both tanks are fully cycled and kept at 0, 0, 20-40 nitrates out of the tap. Sometimes the nitrates build a bit but the last Mystery snail died in like 2 days and it was put in after a major water change so the nitrates were probably not higher than 40.
