Saturday I done a 25% water change in may 29gal tank.
All was fine.
Later that night I saw the water was cloudy.
Sunday morning I woke up to two dead fish(1 ballon molly and 1 baby molly).
Tested water and every thing was good.
Today I came home from work and had two more dead fish(1 guppy and 1 Betta)
Tested water again and it was:
NO3= 20ppm
NO2=0
GH=75ppm
KH=80ppm
PH=7.0
ammo=0

Water is still cloudy.
What do you suggest

29gal tank.
HOB filter
regular gravel
2 black mollys
1 baloon molly
1 powder blue gourami
1 guppy male(not doing so good)
2 pleco
temp at 78
planted tank
1 piece driftwood
1 lfs bought rock
HTH

Your parameters look fine; I don't think its related to nitrogenous waste levels.

What sorta signs do the dying fish have? Any unusual marks? Heavy breathing? What kind of behavior?

I suspect a couple of things, although I can't be sure about any of them:

Poisoning; I wonder if some chemical got into the water?

The bloom could be algae or bacterial. If its algae, and the algae is starting to die off already, it may be reducing the oxygen levels. Grab a white glass or cup and put some water in. If its green tinged, its an algae bloom, if not then its a bacterial bloom.

Have you water changed again?

The fish were breathing heavy and swimming upside down.
Nothing got into the tank that I am aware of.
The tank did have some algae on the glass but most of it is gone now.(algae fix)
Water didnt have green tint to it in the cup.

Havent done water change yet was waiting on some advice first.

When did you add the AlgaeFix? I have a feeling thats the cause of the probs.

I'd water change ASAP. There is something going on there thats affecting their ability to breathe; could be the AlgaeFix is causing a reduction in O2 levels (from the dead/dying algae)

Can't remember the exact day I added it but it has been a few days.
I will do a 25% water change right now and see what happens.
thanks for your help.

Just finished a 25% water change and while I was doing it my male guppy died.
That is 5 fish in 2 days.
I have never had this much of a problem before.
It's enough to make ya want to drain the tank and give up.
:( :( :( :(

Naw, never give up. Tis one of the realities of fishkeeping; sometimes things go horribly wrong. Remember, we have to not only feed them and keep the environment correct for em, we also have to play doctor. Its a lot to do, and especially when it comes to disease a lot of it is guesswork; plus there's very few fish vets out there (there's a coupla koi vets, but I guess when one spends $1000 for a fish, theres a market for the vets). I lost an entire bunch of rams about a month ago; it sucked, but I love my tanks too much to give up completely.

I won't be doing rams anytime soon tho LOL

Oh trust me I know! Is why I've done so much research on fish diseases; its up to us to figure out whats going on cause we certainly don't get much professional medical help. Thing is, without being able to culture for bacteria, its all guesswork.

Came home from work today and there were no dead fish.(WOO-HOO)
Tank looks clearer now but not back to normal yet.
Think I'll do another water change and see what happens.
