Have a zebra danio, well 3 actually but am now down to 1. Have 10 gallon tank, set up for approx 10 weeks. Just added small bubble wall to tank tonight and danio has turned red. Meaning instead of gold and black striped, he is black and then red. Have turned off bubble wall, not sure if that is causing problem. Would anything else do this to him. The other danio's died from 1. tail rot and the second one just was dead one morning, all about 3 weeks ago.
Please help

Danios are sturdy little fish, so something must be up.

Did you follow the cycle closely? What are current test results, and details about the tank? Are these the first fish added?

Moved to the sick fish forum.

Welcome to AA! First what are your water parameters? It sounds as if it may be a water quality issue. I would first do a water change of 50% and see if the fish is any better. 10 weeks is not always enough to guarantee a fully cycled tank. The bubble wall should have no affect on him in a negative way. How often are you changing the water and are you adding anything to the water or just dechlorinator? Any other fish added to the tank recently? Sorry for all the questions, but necessary to figure out what is going on. A water change is always a good idea when fish seem ill. Do that first and keep us posted.

Here is a list of ill fish Qs that cover the bases; answer these Qs to ensure we have as much information as possible about your ailing fish and its environment:

1~What type of fish is afflicted? In addition, please describe what is wrong with the fish to the best of your ability (i.e. cotton like growth, bloated, etc.).
2~What are your tank parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temp, pH)? Please give exact values.
3~ How large is the tank? How long has the tank been set up?
4~What type of filtration are you using? Please give the name and number (i.e. Fluval 304) and amount of gph if known.
5~How many fish are in the tank? What kinds of fish are they and what are their current sizes?
6~When is the last time you did a water change and vacuum the gravel? How often do you do this? How much water do you remove at a time?
7~How long have you had the fish? If the fish is new, how did you acclimate it/them?
8~Have you added anything new to the tank--decor, new dechlorinator, new substrate, etc.?
9~What kind of food have you been feeding your fish, have you changed their diet recently?
