I noticed the tail of one my Cory cats hanging out of my large orandas mouth! I got the Cory out of his mouth and the cat swam off. My question is this... is my oranda going to die from the poison of the Cory cats spinal barbs? He seems really lethargic and I am scared he is going to die. He is my favorite fish :( is there anything I should do? Help....

I stopped keeping those stupid catfish a long time ago. Pretty useless. They get sick and dont die but give it to others, they bottom feed, but unless your overfeeding, you really dont need them. They kick up sand constantly and it gets in the filter, ruining the filter. Most fish scavage on the bottom anyways, whats the point of keeping cories, unless your a catfish fan from like fishing at lakes.....

He might die, cories can poison themselves in shipping. He might be ok if he is big enough.

What species of corycat have you got? Some aren't really poisonous, others are. Also how big the tank? I'd do a water change to be safe as they often secrete the poison as a mucus.
