So I turned my tank light on this morning and noticed at the end of my pelcos tail his skin has like a white film on it.. My tank temp is still at 87 because I'm making sure the ick is gone... Is he sick... I'll attach a picture...
Thanks for the help
Dan

Of course the camera focuses on the heater:/ it looks fuzzy like a film... Do they shed if they grow... There not spots.... It's like fuzz hanging off him but my phone won't pick it up too well... He's only two centimeters.

Well after having him for 2 weeks I finally got him to eat algae wafers... He wouldn't eat them... He's finally be eating the past 3 days..... Idk
How he could get a fungus. I do 40% water changes everyday... Idk how he keeps getting sick. First he got ick... Which non
Of My other fish got and now maybe a fungus... Idk what I'm doing wrong. Should I turn down the temp of the tank.

Maybe his immune system is affected. It's just a thought, and it might be plausible. I couldn't help you any further as i don't have experience to that extent.
Sorry

Ok thank you... Does he look bloated though... He doesn't seem sick he's swimming all over... Only thing is he always goes back to the heater... I would think with the water being 86 degrees he would wanna be somewhere els... Like he doesn't even go in his catfish log anymore he just stays by the heater... Is that normal

Not sure if that's something normal in those fish. Maybe he is stressed witch can affect him highly.

What are your exact numbers for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph? In the pics it looks fuzzy-is it fuzzy or does it look more like strings or hairs?

Well I just did a water change b4 I saw your post... But it looked stringy like hairs.... It's gone now here's a picture of him now when I did my test this morning my ph was 7.6+ ammonia was .25 nitrite was between 0 and .24 and nitrate was a little higher then 5ppm but I been doing about 50% water changes everyday to make sure the ick is gone.. I thing tomorrow I'll go back to 25%

Ok thanks for the help... I'll be putting him in my bigger tank on Wednesday so hopefully that will solve all the issues...

Maybe its a burn that got infected? Ive had that same problem with plecos before, they lay on the heater when its off and when it comes on they are too slow to get away and get a little burn. Probably be fine I wouldn't wory about it.

That's probably exactly what it was lol... I always see him laying on the heater or right next to it... It's all gone now... But your definitely right lol thanks. That solves the mystery. :)
