Platy Problems

Got my first Platy today, and it doesn't seem to be doing well. It just sits at the top and doesn't move, it's not dead though. Anyone know what the problem is? And can you tell if it's male air female? Thanks everyone!

Sometimes they just take a bit to adjust to the new surroundings, just give her a few days
