Please help! Sick Betta with black spots!

Help! My Betta is sick and has this black spot that seems to be getting bigger on his face. I don't know what it is or what to do!

Hi, and welcome to the community.

How long have you had your Betta?

Has his other colors intensified since you got him? It could be his pattern coming out since he is getting more comfortable. Or maybe not...

Is he eating alright, does it seem to bother his mouth opening and closing?

I’ve had him for about 4 years now. I do feel like his purples have intensified but I’m just alarmed to see that black dot which has gotten bigger and now am concerned.

He’s eating fine. He usually stays in the back corner on top of the heater or on the bottom of the tank just chillin.

He is getting up in age too. Just something to be mindful about.

What are the water parameters? Cleanest water possible will help him be strong and as healthy as possible to fight off any little thing.

Can you get a closer up pic where it isn't next to the curve? I really can't tell anything specific about the spot from the pic.
