Hey guys, I have a question about my male bristlenose pleco. I have been looking at pictures of BN plecs recently and have noticed they that are all either albino or a dark mottled brown. My plec is a velvety black and the color of charcoal. He also has small spines on his pectoral fins and scales. He lives in a 30 gallon tank with moderately soft water, neutral pH. Is there anything wrong with him?

Could you post a picture of him?

Yea, we would need to see a picture. The BN plecs at my LFS are almost completely black, albino or look like someone took a paintbrush and splattered white paint all over them. I would say that yours is just a normal plec with different colorations.

Thanks, I'll get a pic when I get home.
