Pleco super unexpected death

My pleco died and this is how I found him wth happened whatís wrong with him!
My common pleco had a little red orb poking out of its butt. Where the white markings between the black are on his body some became almost blood red as did one eye. One tattered tail fin( could be due to decompose red and scavengers in the tank tub.
Was fine and dandy yesterday day to wake up to this. For some reason I canít post pics ! I want to but the little option disappeared. Yes tank parameters are all fine I checked everything is perfect it has to be some sort of illness I could not have prevented. He was just starting his long happy life but life took him before his double digit length mark.
