Popeye in african cichlids

Hey i have an African cichild that has Popeyes and i put 5 ML of melafix in the tank and removed the carbon filter. I also tried jungle fungus clear. And also my fish is staying hovering on the bottom of the tank in one spot. So i was wonder if i did the right thing about the popeyes, and how to get my fish to stop hovering the bottom and eat some food?
