Problem with betta gills

I think there is something wrong with my betta fish, his gills seems to be red. Hes acting normal nothing strange. Here is a picture of him.

Can someone tell me what is wrong with him.

I don't think there is anything wrong, I think it is just his coloring. Those are actually his gill plates you see, his gills are underneath those.

What size of a tank do you have him in? How often do you change part of the water? I am asking this because his fins look clamped, which is a sign of bad water conditions.

hes in a 5 gallon tank, I change his water 50% every other day when I change my smaller bettas water.

Ok, that's perfect!!! Yeah, I think it's just his coloring, I woudn't worry about it.
