Pygmy catfish has a red belly

Hello everyone.

One of our little pygmies is not doing so well. Last night I noticed that he has a reddishness in his belly. Today I confirmed that and his breathing is labored as well.

They've been doing well for such a long time now after I treated them with the general cure. Any idea what could be wrong or what medicine to use that may help?

Water change, never hurts..

What substrate do you have? Gravel could irritate his belly causing stress hence the heavy breathing.

We just did one two days ago, about 40%. We use sand.
