My betta has finrot and I just started using triple sulfa on him. but the directions given for the API product is confusing. This is what it reads: For each 10 gallon of water, empty one packet directly into aquarium. Repeat dose after 24 hours. Wait another 24 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water. Repeat the dose for second time, for total of 4 doses. then make a final 25% water.

my question is.... according to the direction this is what I should do:
a) add 1 packet to 10 gallons
b) 24 hours later add ANOTHER packet to the same tank so the dose is doubled
c) then I do a 25% water change.

I am more concerned about the second part... does that sound right?

since I already started his treatment, I don't want him to become resistant to the drug because I am not giving him the right dose. can someone help pls?

Hi! Dont worry! He wont be getting a double dose of meds. Antibiotics are only effective for a limited frame of time. The water change is more precautionary than anything else. Antibiotics can have an effect on your good bacteria, so just make sure you are testing your parameters daily.
