Red tail shark rubbing himself...
Hes constantly rubbing down there on everything?
He never did it before. He will sit there forever and rock back and forthish. and its only down there?
not his sides or anything.
Hes like 2-3 years old.
Its kinda disturbing.
He eats fine acts fine . waters normal again.
breathing fine.
he just likes to rub himself or herself.

Is it like he's scratching himself while swimming? If it is, it's flashing, and could be a sign of possible ick. Look him over real well for small white specks that look like salt crystals. If you see any, you have ick. If you have it, then we will walk you through the treatment for ick, if you don't know it.Keep us posted.

Flashing can be a sign of ich or other parasites. Take a close look at him. When you say water is normal again what was wrong with it before?

he sure doesnt have ich.
He eats and acts fine, doesnt show any signs that are anything wrong with him.
water was this
P.H 7.9 - anywhere. the ph low test only tests to 7.9.
Ammonia is 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates about 110 really bright pink.
It not so much hes scratching or flickering himself. hes resting himself on things. like the dinosaurs ears or the tips of plants and its not ever the front bottom its only the back bottom.
and just sits there swaying back and forth

In that case it sounds like he is resting. Can't say I've experienced this but sounds kinda neat.

Your nitrates were 110. What are they now? How much water did you change?

umm not to sure what they are my bf tests the water and says its all good.
hes napping now and doesnt like to be woken. lol grumpy man,
about 10-20 as i already did a 50% water change a day before that.
He has a cave/bridge he rests in .. he only comes out eat and chase the guppies. but how he comes out and puts himself on things . thats why i think its soo odd of him?
i dont even know if its a male or female either.

nitrates at 110? That's high. You need to get it down to under 40. You will probably need to do several PWC's to achieve this. Do one daily, 30-50%, for the next 3 days. Then test again and let us know where you are.

I guess you will have to ask him what he considers normal. Most people consider 20 or under ppm normal. If your parameters are all good, no signs of ich or other illness, laboured or fast breathing, I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on him. I was assuming the nitrates low again. Maybe they aren't as low as I was assuming?
