I have just rescued a male guppy from a friends tank. I offered to take him because my friend had lost his two other guppies due to fish attacks. My friend brought the fish up to me today and it is missing a large proportion of its tail (will try to get a photo). It is very active and doesn't seem to be to bothered so i have my fingers crossed.

Will its tail heal and grow back? what can i do to help it recover?

Any help welcome.

Clean water, melafix and pimafix. The trifecta of fin healing. It may not grow back if it has already scarred over or was damagaed at the base but I had a guppy that lost most of his tail twice and it grew back.
