Sick Fish!! Please help!

Hello... So yesterday i came home from work and the tank looked great. I have 5 platies, a swordtail, a spotted gourami, a zebra loach, and 3 peppered cory cats. Plus one of my platies had a baby yesterday... so i go to bed and wake up 5 hours later and the mother platy has white on here side and her eye.... it kinda looks like here side has a little slit across it, but it also looks like fungus... all of the other fish are fish except for her... the water parameters are fine and i just changed the water 2 days ago. Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

p.s. sorry about picture quality....

Is the white inside the lens or outside?

What is your water changing/vacuuming schedule? How long have you had the tank set up? What other fish are in there? How many fish? What size is the tank?

Sounds like a fungus infection - or - she's been attacked. Whatever the case, grab that 1 gallon hospital tank you bought at the garage sale, fill it up with the exact same water she's in now (cuts down on shock) and get her the **** out of that tank. Alone. Minimal light. Room temperature. QUIET, NO TRAFFIC area. ****, COVER the tank a bit (dark cotton t-shirt - but watch the temp).

While YOU try and figure out what is happening with your main tank...

DON'T FEED HER for a least 4 days. Come back here and post then; with DETAILS of your setup like DKPATE asked. The more information you can provide, the sharper the plan of action can be.

In the first instance I would do a 30% pwc and treat with melafix according to the directions. Often clean water is enough to clear up some ailments, but a treatment like melafix helps this along.

Remember that a high bacterial or fungal presence in the water won't show up on the tests. So reducing the number of pathogens in the water is important too, hence pwcs.
