Three nights ago I lost my 4 month old male GBR, what caused it I think I'll never know, since then though the female of the same age has been sulking around the bottom and seems to be gasping heavier than normal. At first I thought she was just sad about the loss of her partner so I purchased another male a similar age but she hasn't perked up.

My water parameters are fine, no ammonia or nitrites and my nitrates are usually 5 or 10 just before my weekly 30% water change. which I figured wasn't too bad as it's quite heavily planted. The only thing is my water sits at 7.6ph to 7.8ph rather than being the optimum 6.5ph

I use an external filter on a rio 125 any ideas what I could be doing wrong? I dose daily with seachem flourish and feed a variety of live frozen and flake.

They are the dominant fish so cant imagine them being bullied by any of the tetras, hatchets or corys.

Thanks in advance my fellow aquarists!

:thanks:
