Sick Neon Tetras (ich) in planted aquarium. Is a 5 gallon quarantine ok?

I have a 29 gallon planted tank with 12 neon tetras. Sadly I do not have a quarantine tank yet and that was my mistake.


I have a 5 gallon bucket that I can setup to be as a tank with a airstone or hang on back filter. Will that be ok or will the fish stress and fight each other because of the low width? Using the ich treatment will kill the plants and mess up the water in the original tank.

Don't think my landowner will allow another fish tank.

Im suggesting a plastic tote box, basically a bigger bucket. Your landlord would kick up a fuss about you buying a 40 litre tote?

I did the plastic tote box. Thanks! Yeah he would. He already made us sign some insurances just to have any aquarium which makes sense I guess.
