Sick or stressed male platy

Please help. My male platy is suddenly behaving in a worrying way. Since this morning he looks really unhappy and seems to be just floating around rather than swimming & keeps going almost vertical. He didn't eat when I fed this morning.

I was wondering whether I should do a pwc or would this stress him more?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have the API Freshwater Master Test Kit & everything is normal. The only thing I can think of is that he may have become stressed following having a kids party here last night & that all the movement in the room might have caused it?
I have 2 female platy in the tank & they seem fine.
