I have a small (6-gallon Eclipse System 6) tank with Neon Tetra disease. 4/5 of my Neon Tetras have died of it, and while the 5th is showing no signs, I'm sure its just a matter of time before it show symptoms and will have to be euthanized (the clove oil method works well for me).
This tank has several VERY gorgeous and healthy plants and a few healthy red cherry shrimp, so I don't want to disassemble and bleach it (at least right now).
So, what small freshwater fish can I put in this tank that won't be affected by the Neon Tetra disease protozoa that are almost certainly in the water and on the plants, rocks, wood, etc...?
Will a few fancy guppies be okay? What other fish might be safe in this tank? Or, should I make it into a shrimp-only tank?
