Have a zebra golfish that has had swimmers disease for a week or two. Can I have tried peas with no luck. Is it possible to decompressed the badder with a needle?

Yes you can manually aspirate the swim bladder with a needle, but this not a permanent fix and there are some possible side effects such as secondary infection and internal injuries. This should be a last ditch effort to save the fish, use the smallest needle you can find(insulin needles work well).

I'm just curious to know how this is done. Do you just poke the side of the fish????

We are waiting to see if the erythromycin works first. She has had this golfish in a QT tank since may its all bended over.
