It has come to my attention that two of my fish are showing symptoms of Swim Bladder. Two have died already.

Is there anything I can do to prevent the rest of my fish from getting it? I've read that once my fish have it, there's no stopping it from spreading to the rest of the tank.

If this is true, how long should I wait after they've all expired before I try to repopulate my tank?

Tankmates:
-7 Assorted Platies (Four are fine, one is sick, and one goes back and forth between)
-2 Mollies (No symptoms)
-1 Golden Dojo Loach (No symptoms)
-1 Weather Loach (No symptoms)
-1 Plecostumus (No symptoms)

Water:
Nitrates: 5.0ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
pH: At least 7.5
Ammonia: .25ppm
Temp: 76-80 degrees F

I think a more likely cause of their demise is the ammonia. How and when did you cycle the tank? Also (not to be a downer), you're weather loach and dojo both need different conditions than the platies, etc. Is it a common pleco? If so, keep in mind that they get BIG. Good luck to you and your fish! :)
