Ok guys

i have 5(i think ) black mollys and the females appear to be losing scales?

its kind of white on there scales and they appear to be coming off i dont know if they molt? or shed? but i dont think its normal and my dad the "fish god" thinks its okay

what do you think it is?

By coming off, do you mean sticking out? Sorta like Dropsy? Check out this link.

If not sticking out, your fish could have columnaris, a bacterial infection that should be taken care of with antibiotics as soon as possible.

Do you only have mollies in your tank?? If so, add aquarium salt (a rounded tablespoon for every 5 gallons) and monitor their progress. In my experience, I've had mollies with silimar issues and this helped tremendously.

well its definitley NOT dropsy that i knew but its not that bacterial one either

it just looks like they are shedding or molting or something

they dont act like normal sick fish they just go on with life around the tank like normal

i still dont know what it is
