Hello.

I have recently purchased an electric blue ram as a companion for another blue ram that I have had for a number of years.

For the first couple of days her behaviour seemed normal , however I have noticed that she has gone off her food and is breathing rapidly.

Today she is resting along the bottom of the tank and appears to be very stressed along with rapid breathing and some loss of colour, I have performed a water test and the water chemistry appears to be normal, also none of the other fish (including my other blue ram) appear to be affected.

I have attached a photo to show its current condition.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks.

Try adding a airstone with aquarium salt take out the plants or da salt will kill them

Did your ram make it? What are your exact ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? German Rams and morphs of that species cannot tolerate very high nitrates unlike other fish. They also like a high temperature of around 80-82.
