today I purchase this new fish and I automatically put it inside the tank after acclimating it and now it Is swimming very quickly and twitching. I see a shimmer on her head but I’m not sure if she’s just stressed out or if she has velvet. IMG_6978.jpg it’s on the top of her head, She’s rubbing against sand and it’s really freaking me out.

Edit: She’s in a split tank and I moved her to a temporary cup for the safety of my other betta fish.

Good to remove her for safety.

Do you know the water parameters for your split tank you added her into? Tank temperature?

I can't really see the spot you mentioned in the pic. Ich would be little dots / specks like sugar or salt.

Make sure that the water is changed every day after feeding time so water quality stays as good as possible.

If it is Ich...

Are you familiar with the nitrification cycle? The article in my signature link has info regarding building a benefical bacteria / BB colony so the filter can process waste, and keep fish healthier. As well as other useful information.
