I purchased four young Angelfish (about a quarter in size) for my fifty-five gallon planted tank. They were at the LFS the last time I was there, which was about a week or two ago, and looked healthy, so I figured it was O.K. to purchase them.
It's been about a week (maybe five days or so). One is dead, and now the other three are all hanging out together near the bottom. They are eating, and there are no other tank inhabitants. Up until now, they had been swimming around the tank, acting perfectly fine. There are no signs of fin rot, ich, etc.
The acclimation went well, and the LFS water and my tank water were very similar, and perfectly fine - no spikes of anything. The tank is entirely cycled. The temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit and I have not noticed fluctuations.
No copper has been used in the tank, or any other medication.
The Angelfish are not showing any aggression to each other whatsoever.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
