What is this?

I have a silver lyretail mollie (unsure M or F) It has developed a dark spot inside its body near the rear of its abdomen. The fish seems to be slighly bloated...what is the dark spot? Is this fish pregnant or is it possibly consipated? On thing of note I just introduced Hikari sinking wafers into the tank for my catfish and the other fish in the tank have been nibbling at them at feeding time.

Sounds pregnant to me. Thae spot is called "gravid".

Actually, it is a gravid spot on your gravid female. Gravid simply refers to carrying eggs, or developing young.

I just did a google search for images of "gravid spot" I does look like this fish is pregnant...I just noticed this spot yesterday...how long until i see fry in the tank?
