This is the picture of this weird white worms in my tank I'll try my best to describe them.

While doing a water change I was stirring up the substrate in my 72 gallon planted tank. And the current that my hand created made these white stringy worms about 1/2 to 1 inch long be swept out of the substrate. They couldn't swim well and just slithered like a snake through the water but could not move through the water at all and current just carried them away. Once in the substrate it just slithered in the substrate and didn't see it again.

Also some of the worms didn't make there way down to the bottom some of the fish had a yummy snack.

Now here are my questions:
What are these worms?
Will they harm anyone or anything?
