what’s wrong with my betta

he lives in a 5.5 gallon tank. heat is at 80 degrees ; i do water changes regularly. water parameters are normal . his fins look to be torn or bitten, he rubs up against stuff , and his body & fins looks dirty.

What exactly is your water change schedule and how much do you change out?

What specifically is your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates?

Based off your fish behavior and appearance I'd say he has a bacterial or parasitic issue. Don't know enough to determine that yet so as much info as possible would help and pics as Fish pointed out.
