What’s wrong with my gourami??

Hi!

I’m relatively new to keeping fish as I inherited an aquarium from a friend who was moving away.

Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with the gourami and how to treat it? It is still able to poop but this *growth?* has been there for at least three days. Otherwise, it seems healthy.

Any advice appreciated!

Maybe not a growth but where it poops from.
