whats wrong with my rainbow shark?

i got my rainbow shark a few day ago and all it does is sit in the thick fake grass I have in my tank. when I was at the petstore he would siwm all around the tank there. Please tell me if you know whats wrong with him.

Did you cycle your tank before you got fish? If not, read this article:
Nitrogen Cycle
It will give you an idea of what is happneing, and why your fish is sick.

ive bought a test stick and everything in the tank was at a safe level.

Strips are very inaccurate, and I would get a liquid test kit. They have them at Walmart.com for $18, and $.97 shipping to your house. No levels of ammonia or nitrites are safe. That's another reason the liquid is good, it tells you exactly how much is in there.

+1 to DK's advice.

Even if the fish looks fine right now, you WILL encounter issues (fish deaths, needless expenses, etc.) if you do not become familiar with at least the basics of the nitrogen cycle.

Also, what size tank? An RBS needs at least a 3' tank IME.
