I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank with Cories (10), Pleco (1), Australian Rainbowfish (4), Bosemani Rainbowfish (4) and Red Eye Tetras (8)

Ph between 7.6-7.8
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 20-30

I lost 3 cories recently. They had fin rot so I upped the cleanings. I also took out a plant that had recently been bleached and may have been leaching bleach into the tank.

After cleaning I added extra de chlorinator (Prime). There have been no more cories deaths and all fin rot seems to have stopped.

Yesterday I noticed one of my females has some white spots (not ICH, not fuzzy) on her head and both eyes are a bit cloudy. I have had her for 2-3 yrs.

Not sure I should medicate. I was going to add Kanaplex.

Any ideas?ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1430774597.640141.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1430774632.688870.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1430774663.344737.jpg

Kanaplex(kannamyacin) YES!
Lost cories to "fin rot" aka Columnaris;
Fish Columnaris | Fungus & Saprolegnia | Treatment & Prevention
Read!
There are 4 strains(it is all in their as I have read it too many times).
I don't think the bleaching of the plant much matters(just IMO).
I went through similar with 2-3 year old swordtails that I "cured " with PP(in link),
but most go kana route with good success.
Read ,ask questions, start treatment fast!
Hope this helps!

I am treating a 75 gallon tank.

I have Kanaplex and have read it's safe with a Pleco.

I've read Furan 2 is sage also but I don't have enough

Salt is no good with Plecos correct?

Luckily I already lowered the temp. Thanks! Will start kana asap.

IMO you can salt normal-light with the pleco.
If you do just watch him,but many falsely report plecos being brackish(their not) but can handle some salt.
This is treatment not regular water quality.
Yea on the lower temp also !
Good move you did research !

Thanks! I had been putting off treating the tank for a day. Helps to have another opinion. Started Kanaplex fingers crossed.

Finished Kanaplex with no change.

I ordered Furan 2 and next round will combine with Kana. I was debating salt and you said the Pleco would be fine but at what ratio? 1tsp per gallon?

Thanks again!
