any idea what these little things are.. they have taken over my tank...

Oh i see it now. They are Q-tip/Pineapple sponges. Harmless filter feeders but usually an indication of excessive nutrients. Better water quality will help reducing their population. Also they don't tolerate bright light. I've read that linkia starfish will eat that stuff. HTH
