I just saw this in the tank today. It's new within the past 48hrs...could it be a frogspawn bud?

Are they asexual, or did a bud pop off the main frag (which has gotten pretty big)?

Awesome, either way :)

I want to move the main frag since it's starting to impede flow in the area, as evidenced by the algae on the sandbed. I can't wait for the big tank build :)

This seems pretty well attached. I'm guessing I'll have to wait for it to get bigger before I detach and move it?

Well dang it's gone :-(

Dunno. ..I hope to see it again.

I've never heard of this type of behavior in terms of reproduction with this family of coral. I remember seeing a similar phenomena when I had a torch coral and one of the heads died off...more than likely something stressed it out and it dropped a mini head or something.

I see this happen when my clowns get aggressive with my frogspawn. Just broken off tentacles. They float away to be consumed by other tank inhabitants.
