I need help with identification of a small bi valve that I have found nestled in my LR. Sorry but I have no pictures to help, the camera seems to have walked away.

The 'clam' is off white, 1/2" wide and 3/4" long. The most distictive thing about it is that it's shell looks amazingly like a pineapple. I thought that it might be one of those sponge thingamabob's but it has a HARD shell and a foot attached to the rock. Last night I found the little sucker with the remains of one of my hermits sticking out of the shell. That's when I figured out that he must be some sort of mollusk.

Any help??? Thanks!

By that part alone, I would suspect a spiny oyster.

Cheers
Steve
