Looks/sounds like a clam, perhaps a turkeywing clam which are pretty common and very hardy.

I have a few also and every now and then discover more. Don't know where they come/came from. The shells are emptied within days of my noticing them so they must be a tasty delight to some fish/ crabs, or snails.

I dont think turkey wing clams will move though. Might open up a bit but their foot so to speak is part of the rock and the clam mouth is facing the rock. I used to get these on FL LR. Never lated very long though. A few would go long term but not many. I had a nasty cycle due to LR that was covered in these things and then thy all died off!
