Does it have a hard skeleton? If so, take a pic with the polyps retracted.

It looks like an elephant ear mushroom in that pic.

Yes it has a hard skeleton. I will try to get a pic of it closed tonight.

Upon closer inspection I think maybe you are right. It is tightly attached to the rock so I thought it was hard.
