Cotton balls or snow like things
This is a new set up. Is a 50 gal tank , live sand some live rocks and dead rocks no livestock. It has being running for 3 weeks. This snow like or cotton balls has like a little tube coming out from them. Does anyone know what this may be? Thanks!!!

I believe they are a type of sponge.

Are they safe or should I worry about any toxin release from them if stress???

They are perfectly harmless filter feeders.
