Hair algae

There seems to b hair algae growth in my over flow boxes... Should I remove it?

I would rather have it there than in my tank. I have macro algea in my overflows. They do help to get rid of excessive nutrients in the tank and not be seen. JME.

I also have macro algae in there... It's the pink bubbly one
