Looks like it may be a spaghetti worm. If it is that, I have those too. Not bad really but multiply like crazy and can be annoying. I'd get it out i were you!

Do they happen to also live in the sand and send "tentacles" out?

Yup looks like a spaghetti worm, and I have been swing yellow tentacles in the sand bed, now I know what they are from. I'll be upgrading tanks this weekend and using new substrate, so hopefully most of them stay in the old sand.

No problem!! They are all over my tank. In the sand, rocks, glass, coral. If you're moving tanks with rock and all, it's almost guaranteed they will make there way into the new tank. Good thing is, they aren't necessarily bad. But yeah
try to keep them out if you can.
