How do I get rid of this?

Well besides scraping every three days how can I get rid of this/prevent it and what causes it to grow? Thanks for your help all.

Snails, although, you'll want to keep the powerhead clean manually. Snails + powerhead, can easily = dead snail.

So snails and some scraping. Will it hurt if I leave it on the back and sides? Just clean the front? Thanks
