can anyone tell me what these things are they are growing on my live rock and they look like a seed thats just sprouted through the soil. there are 3 of them.

Do they react when you touch them?

They are a form of macro algae. Just break it off and remove, ive had it in my tanks. Never became a nuisance.

That is a green macro algae, neomeris annulata. I would pull it out as it can become a nusiance and spread rapidly.

i thought macro was good for the tank as it absorbs all the neiutreints

It does and as long as your nutrients aren't higher then they should be then it shouldnt spread to rapidly but most people like to keep there DT empty of macro and only keep it in the sump
