looks like dandelion pollen

I have a large marine all fish aquarium.
Sorry no pic, but I have these very small things that almost look like they are made of dental floss. They are very small and have a short stem then a ball with all these filaments coming off of it. They almost look like the the white dandelion pollen that you can blow into the wind. Well I first noticed it on my corals (the kind you bleach) now they are every where, my water parameters are all good. I wonder what they are and if they act like a natural filtration system. I do have high water flow in the tank. Well any advice??? I am working on posting a picture.
