need help coral ID. purple sps?

sorry my tang got in the pic, but these thing came with the LR I bought at the lfs, I dont see any polyps on it, is an sps and if so what species are these things? TIA

Hard to tell from the size. Usually when they are that small it's more guess work than actual identification. I would wait for it to get some "girth" to it before you try to ID it further. Never rely on color as a means of IDing.

Colors can often change dramatically fom wild to captive raised. It will also be skewed by light type and intensity. The only real way of properly IDing them is skelatal structure. Get used to the phrase "sp." as in acropora sp... :wink:
