ITs growing in the middle of my reef tank and it looks like grass almost! what is it from and is it bad!

what do I do to get rid of it before it gets outta control
 
It looks like it's on your sand. Just suck it out when doing a PWC.
 
I agree with Thincat, either suck it out or pull that rock it's on out of the tank. Better to contain and control now rather then later
 
Thanks for all the replies guys. I pulled the rock out and as much of it as I could with a partial water change. For now its gone. so we will see. Are there any fish or CUC I can buy to help keep it in check?
 
The best way to deal with any algae is to limit it's food source. In most cases it means limiting the excess nutrients in your system. Reduced feedings, reduced lighting periods and increased PWCs. Do some water tests and see what your numbers are.
